The Wandering Lake
There is a closeness in breaking the fourth wall. This space, sustained and traversed, offers a choral remedy for what language resists: akin to another body, my palm on yours, a break in otherness. Even in those moments of formal distortion, Wend to Why looks up so high that you must stand on your toes to follow its velvet gradation into a place above temporality, historicity and singular experience. In this absentia, we find ourselves permitted to pass, and forgotten things promised. One would drop to their knees to find this kind of beauty concrete and touchable on any other day.
“The [Tour Support EP] consists of four songs, all of which represent quite a departure from the otherworldly experimentalism of previous releases. The sound here is more immediate, more confident, a step towards psych tinged folk rock. They sound more like super-chill campfire jams than shamanistic campfire wails. The good news is that each track is great!” - Wake the Deaf on Tour Support EP
